Cayuga white grapes and Chambourcin red grapes are grown on 6 1/2 acres at Fragrant Farms. Each year, the graceful vines are hand-pruned in February and March preparing them for the blooming cycle in May. By mid-summer, luscious green and purplish-red grapes glisten like glass marbles, ripening in the sun while they internally reach just the right sugar content for harvest in late August or early September.
Our grapes are sold to an Indiana vintner, Easley Winery, in Indianapolis. We also have grapes for home winemakers. These grapes include Traminette, Marechal Foch, Seyval Blanc and Chancellor.
